A computational approach for stochastic performance measures: exact analysis vs. Gillespie simulations

Abstract for Computer Lab: In this computer lab, we will implement in the computer (e.g., Python, C, C++ or Matlab) the results obtained in the lecture “A Markovian approach for modelling biochemical reactions: analysis of stochastic performance measures”. These results refer to the exact analysis of a number of stochastic performance measures in a model for phosphorylation of a receptor tyrosine kinase. We will also present in this computer lab the Gillespie algorithm, that allows us to simulate the stochastic process under study, and we will compare results obtained by simulations with results obtained from the exact analysis.
