Title: Using and contributing to the BioModels database
Abstract: For the systems biology community to efficiently build upon prior modeling work, models must be available, reliable, and biologically searchable. The BioModels database aims to accomplish all three goals. First, by hosting models encoded in the Systems Biology Markup Language. Second, by curating those models to ensure they reproduce results from the paper. Third, by annotating those models to connect model entities to biological databases. In this session, students will be introduced to the database, explore it to find interesting models, and (time permitting) begin annotating a model (their own or from the literature).
