Hands-on Monte Carlo Tutorial
From Q-bio
Read before lecture N. Metropolis et al. - Equation of state calculations by fast computing machines - Journal of Chemical Physics 1953 21(6), 1087-1092
This interactive tutorial will introduce the foundations of the Monte
Carlo methods. Special attention will be given to Markov Chain Monte
Carlo in
both its thermodynamic and kinetic implementations. All topics will be
introduced through pseudocode bits that the students will use
to develop their own working MC code.
Reference programming languages will be Matlab/Octave and C++, but the
students are welcome to use any other programming language of their
choice.
