UQ-bio Summer School

UQ-bio Mentoring

The UQ-bio Two-by-Two Mentoring Program

The program will offer to match undergraduate students with graduate student or postdoc mentors using the two-to-two method (two mentors assigned to two students).  Mentoring matches will be suggested and made based upon student interests and mentor experiences.

The goals of the mentoring program is not only to make matches based on technical interests to help junior student to learn new techniques, but also to provide junior students with people to ask for help as they navigate the uncertain process of starting a graduate program.

Mentors will be assigned using the two-by-two strategy.  Each student will be paired with an other student with whom they will share two mentors. Mentoring sessions will typically include all four participants and are expected to be approximately monthly following after the UQ-bio Summer School.

For 2021 inaugural year, the mentoring program will only be available to students selected to be full participate in the program.

Faculty, postdocs, senior graduate students, and industry partners who wish to apply to become mentors should fill out the questionnaire at: https://forms.gle/UH3WwfUhBnMiWERn8 or contact the organizers at brian.munsky@colostate.edu.
